Fourth Annual BRRC Club Picnic, Awards, and Fun Runs
home of Brian & Margaret Flowers
Sunday, June 29, 2008
10AM to 3:00PM

This year BRRC Board Member Brian Flowers, his wife Margaret, and their family have invited BRRC members to their home in Sparks for the 4th Annual Family Picnic. The day begins with fun runs, followed by a cookout, and ending with club awards. This year, live music by local runners will also be part of the poolside entertainment!

Those who missed the RSVP deadline and would still like to attend can let us know by noon on Friday 6/27 by emailing BRRCInfo@gmail.com. You will not be entered in the drawing for the gift basket. We still ask you bring a side dish based on your last name, as outlined in the next paragraph.

Food will include grilled hamburgers, veggie burgers, and hot dogs with fixings. This year we are asking members whose last name begins with A through M to bring a side dish to share, and N through Z to bring a dessert. Soft drinks, water and lemonade will be provided, and beer will be available for a small donation.

We are looking forward to seeing you there, rain or shine!

RSVP/COST

Free to all BRRC members who RSVP’ed by 6/21. Cost for non-members: $5/person, maximum of $20 per family. ALL those not on the list by noon Friday pay $6 at the door.

Those responding by the deadline will be entered in a drawing for a wonderful Trader Joe’s gift basket.

Schedule of Events

  • 10AM Self-timed 3 to 4 mile Cross Country Fun Run
  • 11AM 1-mile Family Fun Run
  • 11AM food served until 2PM
  • 1PM Awards presentation (Runners of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, etc.)

Volunteers

Our picnic committee would welcome all volunteers. Let Ellen know via your invitation reply if you'd like to take a turn at the grill, or help set-up or clean-up, or could bring a cooler with ice.

Distance and pace vary as runners with similar goals work together. Runners not targeting the marathon are welcome to run a shorter distance.

This year the program is being led by Ann Fraker and Bart Rein. If you have questions please email BRRCInfo@gmail.com.

Baltimore Running Festival
October 11, 2008

Corrigan Sports is continuing their "Club Thank You" program for the 2008 Baltimore Running Festival with a $5 discount for BRRC members signing up by 8/31 for any race except the Kids Fun Run.

Please use the code RunBalt02 when signing up.

This program offers additional benefits to BRRC if enough members race, such as web links publicizing the club, race entries we can give away, and reserved space in the finish area.

Outside of this program, BRRC members have a great time running the water stop near mile 12 of the marathon course. If you are not racing but still want to enjoy The Baltimore Running Festival, watch for announcements here about participating in this fun community activity.

If you have questions please email BRRCInfo@gmail.com.
