Where Are You Running This Weekend?
The Baltimore Road Runners Club (BRRC) wants to make sure you have every opportunity to run with the Greater Baltimore running community. Here is our updates on running opportunities for the weekend and near future.
NCR Trail Snails/ BRRC Long Run
Meet up with the NCR Trail Snails running at the Loch Raven Reservoir. The snails meet at McFauls Restaurant at the corner of Loch Raven Drive at Cromwell Valley Road. 7:30 am start. Good parking as long as we leave by 11am. Various paces are likely- perfect for new runners as well as moderately faster runners. The full loop measures 10 miles if you stay on the roads. Some may opt for a trail option. More info go to http://ncrtrailsnails.com/.
The Pacemakers is a great group that meets in different areas of Baltimore City and County. Bob Hilson has mapped out every inch of the Baltimore area and knows every small coffee shop and diner. The group varies from 20-50 on any given Saturday and a runner can usually find a suitable pace with others. Bob also has a written direction map for those who might need it. And, as an extra bonus- he collects old but usable running shoes to be shipped to Haiti. Here is Bob’s info for this week:
Hey, The Run is on for Saturday, a gentle and always pleasing jaunt through bits of the Charles Village, Station North, Lake Montebello, Johns Hopkins University, Inner Harbor, Ednor Gardens, Mt. Vernon, Waverly, Federal Hill and Morgan State University communities.
We launch at 7 a.m. from Towson Hot Bagels, 3208 St. Paul St., and, surrounded by friends, get to run distances of either 3, 6.6, 10, 14.6, 15, 17 or 20 miles. What a bargain.
Many congrats to all who raced last weekend, especially. . .
** Matt Beach, who traveled to Morocco for the half marathon at the International Marathon of Marrakech festival. Despite the sun and the heat, it was Matt’s second best half marathon.
** Maura Guedouar, who placed fourth in her division at the Town of Celebration Marathon in Celebration, Fla.
Shoes for Haiti?
