Where Are You Running This Weekend?

The Baltimore Road Runners Club (BRRC) wants to make sure you have every opportunity to run with the Greater Baltimore running community. Here is our updates on running opportunities for the weekend and near future.

Saturday
NCR Trail Snails/ BRRC Long Run
Meet up with the NCR Trail Snails running at the Loch Raven Reservoir. The Snails meet at McFauls Restaurant at the corner of Loch Raven Drive at Cromwell Valley Road. 7:30 am start. Good parking as long as we leave by 11am. Various paces are likely- perfect for new runners as well as moderately faster runners. The full loop measures 10 miles if you stay on the roads. Some may opt for a trail option. More info go to http://ncrtrailsnails.com/.

BRRC 10 Miler Training Group

The BRRC 10 Mile Training Group will meet at Loch Raven on Saturday mornings. They will meet at 7:00 am at the corner of Loch Raven Drive and Morgan Mill Road (“The Rock)”. The plan for this week calls for an easy 3.5 mile run. You are still welcome to sign up at BRRC.com and join officially.

Pacemakers

The Pacemakers is a great group that meets in different areas of Baltimore City and County. Bob Hilson has mapped out every inch of the Baltimore area and knows every small coffee shop and diner. The group varies from 20-50 on any given Saturday and a runner can usually find a suitable pace with others. Bob also has a written direction map for those who might need it. And, as an extra bonus- he collects old but usable running shoes to be shipped to Haiti. Here is Bob’s info for this week:

Yo, The Run is set for Saturday, a gentle tour of some of the many interesting, infamous and historical spots of West Baltimore, as well as a chance to visit pockets of the Sandtown-Winchester, Harlem Park, McCulloh Homes, Druid Heights, Gilmor Homes, Union Square, Sowebo, Upton, Pigtown and Hollins Market communities.

We launch at 7 a.m. from the Hollins Market, 26 S. Arlington Ave. (at the corner of Hollins Street and Arlington Avenue), and get the chance to run 7.4 (or shorter), 10, 11 or 13 miles. As mentioned before, this run might be a bit slower and include several stops for those who choose to stop. There are no planned stops for the last 5.5 miles.
