Sadly, George Yannakakis passed away on January 6. A beloved member and accomplished runner of our BRRC, George was inspirational to all who knew him professionally and personally. A late blooming champion, he proved that running was not about outrunning time rather what it means to keep going. George and his wife, Zoe, were active members of the BRRC, cordially hosting our post-race “Masters Race” breakfasts at their home for many years. He has received countless awards for his running achievements including selection to the BRRC Hall of Fame in 2019. Donations to the BRRC can be made in his honor.
