Cancelled – BRRC Cinco de Mayo Fun Run!
May 5 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
BRRC members, volunteers, and member wannabes, it is all about you! Come as you are, or better yet, wear your favorite Mexican red and greens to start the Cinco de Mayo weekend in one of our historic neighborhoods!
Date and Location: Tuesday, May 5th, 6:30 PM, Monument City Brewing Company, Rain or Shine
Parking: We will meetup between 6:00 and 6:30 in the Monument City Brewery Company’s spacious parking lot behind the brewery at 1 North Haven Street, and leave after 6:30.
Course: Here’s the running route: There will be leading and gathering at locations “B” and “C” on this run of about 4.5 miles.
Monument City Brewing to Cinco de Mayo Duos at 1312 Eastern Avenue (“B” on our map) via Baltimore Street through Patterson Park and on to Eastern Avenue. Return to the Cinco de Mayo at 408 South Highland Avenue (“C” on our map) just off Eastern Ave, and return to Monument City Brewing (“D” on our map), via Eastern Avenue and Haven Street.
Start and Finish at Monument entrance at the back parking lot, Location A and D:
Cinco de Mayo Duos, 1312 Eastern Avenue, Location B:
Cinco de Mayo, 408 South Highland Avenue, Location C:
The route is pretty much out and back, and you will see that there are many opportunities to double back to shorten your run. The shortest distance would be to walk from Monument to Cinco de Mayo on South Highland, which is 1.5 miles round trip. The longest distance would be to add miles in Patterson Park, as you are compelled.
Nobody will be left behind! We will aim to be back at Monument by 7:30. If you cannot make the run, no worries! You are welcome to meet us at Monument at 7:30 to indulge in some terrific local craft beer.
Bling! We will have Cinco de Mayo themed beads and leis to adorn us, while supply lasts! Or just as good, wear your red and green to get in the spirit!
Swag! Thanks to our great club, we have repurposed Cinco de Mayo themed bandana/neck gaiters! These are for members only, so be sure you are current, $22 for the year at brrc.com! Pretty awesome!
Event Day Sign up Only!
We will have a simple signup onsite, day of the event only.
This event is no charge to BRRC members and our guests, donations only on race day. We will post the event on our facebook BRRC group page and also create a facebook event. Please consider RSVPing there, by clicking “going”, or emailing me, Henry Peck, at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com , so we have an idea of how many people to expect. We will have Mexican themed food treats if we have interest!
Monument City Brewing is a large public venue, with indoor and outdoor areas, and we will be mixing in with our community on a festive day! You should consider arriving early if your schedule allows. Dogs and children are welcomed at Monument, and, bonus, there is a food truck, live music, and a comedian scheduled there that day!
See you in Highlandtown!
