Longevity

Since winning BRRC Volunteer of the Year in 2013 and becoming the club president shortly thereafter, Johnny has played a critical role in BRRC’s success over the last decade. He has worn many BRRC roles including race director, race timer, volunteer, and club website guru.

Service to the Club

    • BRRC race director from 2014-2024 (Gunpowder Trail Race, GPS 8 Miler, Cupid’s Crush, NCR Marathon)
    • BRRC Volunteer of the Year 2013, 2017, and 2022
    • BRRC President 2015-2016, 2019
    • Pivotal role in launching of new club website in 2013
    • Continued behind-the-scenes work (design, web, timing/race results) from 2013 until 2025

Stewardship

Johnny competes locally in races with Annapolis Striders, Bullseye Running, Howard County Striders, and others, and is a great ambassador for BRRC at those events. He is a great reflection of BRRC’s statement that says “opportunities for the newcomers to the experienced”. He started out at BRRC as a new runner in his 20s, trying to lose weight and kick bad habits, and now races distances as far as 100 miles. He has given back to the community through his dedicated volunteering, embodying what the BRRC is all about.
