Linda Tice

Linda is a familiar face in the BRRC, sharing her love for running, community and competition.

Although an athlete growing up, Linda’s running career didn’t begin until she was 50.  It was then that she joined the BRRC and began to train and consider competing in races.

Over her 23 years of running, Linda has conquered the spectrum of distances from the track to the marathon and has excelled in her performance at these events.

She has earned her place on the podium for many races, finishing top in her age group.

Among her accolades—

  • GPS Series winner over many years
  • Annual BRRC recognition awards for age designation including 2016 Female Senior Runner of the Year and 2016 Valor Runner of the Year
  • 2016 GPS Too Hot to Trot 5 Miles: 56:34 at age 70
  • 7 Cherry Blossom 10 Milers with a best time of 1:14.38 in 2001 and 4 third place finishes in her age group. In 2017 at age 71 she ran 1:33:35 in Cherry Blossom.
  • 1997 Annapolis 10 Mile finish in 1:16:11 to place 2nd in her age group
  • 1997 Army 10 Mile finish in 1:15:48 earned her a 3rd place age group finish
  • 1997 Shamrock Sportsfest Marathon (Virginia Beach): 3:52.36 placing 3rd in her age group
  • She includes completing one Boston Marathon in just over 4 hours to round out her marathon running.

Linda has been an active volunteer within the BRRC community and outside.

  • She served as Race Director for the GPS NCR Half Marathon for 3 years
  • BRRC Coach: 5 years

Linda has also been involved in the community lending her time and talents to supporting the Special Olympics over the years.

Retired from a career in financial planning, Linda enjoys her family time with her children and grandchildren and travelling the globe with her husband, Don.
