Each year, BRRC presents many of our outstanding members with recognition AWARDS! We invite you to congratulate those honored members!

We have the following criteria for our Performance Awards:

M/F RUNNERS OF THE YEAR: WMA = >75%

ALL OTHER AGE CATEGORIES M/F RUNNERS OF THE YEAR: WMA = >70%

  1. Minimum of 2 years of races
  2. BRRC member for the applicable calendar year and current member in good standing.
  3. Completed at least 10 races during the calendar year; at least 6 local races and 5 must have been sponsored by BRRC; if high school or collegiate, then need to be a member of a sanctioned running team and only 3 of 10 need be sponsored by BRRC
  4. Minimum average WMA score for races to qualify for consideration = As noted above
  5. Minimum Distance for consideration: 1 mile
  6. Track meet events: Only one event per meet
  7. Participation in MDRRCA Club Challenge considered as BRRC sponsored event only if participated as BRRC team member

OTHER AWARDS, INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AND OTHER AWARDS AT THE DISCRETION OF AND AS DIRECTED BY THE BRRC BOARD AND THE AWARDS CHAIRPERSON:

TRAIL RUNNER OF THE YEAR:  Completed at least 6 trail races during calendar year; competed or volunteered at 5 BRRC events; and competed at least 3 BRRC trail races.

ULTRARUNNER OF THE YEAR:  Completed at least 5 ultra runs during the calendar year; competed or volunteered at 5 BRRC events, and competed at Gunpowder 50k trail run.

MOST IMPROVED (MALE AND FEMALE):  Demonstrated significant improvement in running statistics over prior calendar year, comparing award year performances to previous year’s PR’s.

VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR:  Recognizes that individual who steadfastly and consistently dedicates his or her time to support the club’s activities.

COACH OF THE YEAR:  Recognizes that individual who steadfastly and consistently dedicates his or her time to coaching the club’s training activities.

LIFETIME DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD:  Recognizes that individual who has over the years exemplified a selfless dedication and commitment to the Baltimore Road Runner’s Club in support of the spirit and sport of running. Consideration is given to that individual who has been a long-time and current active member of the BRRC whose service to the club spans twenty years and more.
